Questions

Every answer here has its own address, so it can be linked to and quoted on its own. Nothing is decided on this page: each answer restates something Atlas publishes somewhere it can be checked, and points at it.

Hiring through Atlas

For the company filling the seat.

What does it cost to hire through Atlas? §

One month of the agreed retainer, invoiced once, when an engagement starts. There is no subscription, no percentage of the ongoing fee, and no charge if an engagement does not start. Reading the register costs nothing and no account is needed to see the names.

The fee, in full

Does Atlas take a percentage of what the leader bills? §

No. Nothing recurring is charged to either side. After the single invoice the relationship is yours, the rate is between you and the leader, and Atlas is not in the payment chain at all.

How does an introduction actually work? §

You tell Atlas the seat, the jurisdiction and the days a week. The house reads the register and comes back inside two working days with named leaders, or with a straight answer that the seat is not covered yet. You speak to whoever you want to speak to. There is no call before you see the names.

Brief Atlas on a seat

Do I have to talk to anyone before I see who is on the register? §

No. Every page is public and open to read, with the leader's photograph, the seats they have held, their jurisdictions and two proofs that open. A register you have to ask permission to read is a form, not a register.

What if the engagement does not work out? §

Clearing the standard means a leader has held the seat before under their own name, and that someone who worked with them said so on a call with us. It does not guarantee an engagement works. That is what the ninety-day replacement is for.

What vetting does and does not cover

Can we hire the leader full-time later? §

Yes, and nothing further is owed to Atlas if you do. The single invoice is the whole commercial relationship, whatever the engagement turns into afterwards.

Which seats does Atlas cover? §

AI Officer, CFO, COO, CTO, CMO, CHRO and non-executive director. The AI Officer seat is the one no other network in this market carries as a category of its own.

Open a seat and read the names

Which markets is Atlas open in? §

The Gulf is open. Singapore is next and India is planned. A leader is only listed in a market they have actually worked in, which is the second of the six tests, so an open market means people on the ground rather than a page with a city name on it.

The markets

Being listed

For the executive deciding whether to publish a page.

What does it cost a leader to be listed? §

Nothing, to list and nothing to stay listed. Companies pay Atlas. Leaders never do, and that is what keeps the register a register rather than an advertisement.

Can anyone join? §

Anyone can apply. Not everyone is listed. Every page clears six published tests, including a reference call the house makes itself and a legal footing to invoice from. People are turned down. That is the difference between a register and a mailing list.

The six tests

What does the house owe me once my page is live? §

Four things. Every introduction reaches you. An answer inside five working days either way, including when the company goes quiet. You are told what happened, won or lost, with the reason when there is one. And no fee ever reaches you.

The listing terms

Do I have to publish my rate? §

No. A page can show a band or show On request, and the choice is yours to change later. Standing in public with a band sets a ceiling with future clients, which is a real cost and the site does not pretend otherwise.

Is the page mine? §

The address is yours, you send it to whoever you like, and you can ask for it to come down at any time. Approval is the half the house holds: a page needs both published by the leader and approved by Atlas, and the second half can be withdrawn if a proof stops resolving or capacity stops being real.

The terms

What is asked of me after the page goes live? §

A quarterly confirmation of your capacity and start date, and a replacement link if one of your proofs stops resolving. A page that goes quiet stops being live until it answers.

Fractional and shared executives

What the category is, and when it is the wrong answer.

What is a fractional or shared CXO? §

An executive who holds a seat at your company for one to three days a week, on a retainer, and holds other seats elsewhere. They sit in the leadership team and own a function, rather than delivering a report and leaving.

How is that different from a consultant? §

A consultant advises the seat. A fractional executive sits in it. The difference shows up in month two, when somebody has to make the decision rather than describe the options, and it is why Atlas turns down advisers who have not held the title.

How does the cost compare to a full-time hire? §

Less, because you are buying days rather than a year, but the comparison only means something against a local salary rather than an imported one. The working is published with its source and its geography.

What a fractional executive costs in the UAE

When is a fractional executive the wrong answer? §

When the work is a full-time job, when nobody internally can carry a decision between visits, or when what you actually need is an extra pair of hands rather than a seat. Atlas publishes the cases where the answer is no.

When fractional is the wrong answer

What does an AI Officer actually own? §

The inventory of what the organisation is running, the assessment the regulator asks for, the human-in-the-loop decisions, and the answer to who signed off. It is an accountability seat before it is a technology one, which is why it is not the CTO's spare afternoon.

The AI Officer, written from what a regulator asks for

The paperwork

How an engagement is papered, and who carries what.

What does Atlas deliberately not do? §

Atlas does not set the price, does not rank leaders on its own account, and does not direct the work. Those three lines are what keep Atlas an introduction business rather than a party to the engagement, and they are design rules rather than preferences.

How many leaders are on Atlas? §

Atlas does not publish a count and never will. A number that cannot be audited drifts to whatever the page needs it to be. Open a seat, read the names, and count them yourself if the number matters.

What happens to my data? §

A leader page is public because the leader published it. An enquiry and an email address are not. The processors are named individually, with where each one holds the data, rather than described as improving your experience.

Privacy

Is anything on this site legal or tax advice? §

No. Everything on Atlas is published for information. Rules, fees and licence conditions change, and every figure should be verified with a qualified adviser before you act on it.

The Atlas letter

One leader added to the register, by name. One thing that changed in the rules. One number, with its geography on it.

Once a month. Atlas sends one email to confirm the address before adding it. Nothing arrives until that link is clicked.
